Welding of brass and stainless steel

The melting point of brass is not much higher than the melting point of copper electrodes, so copper brazing is not very good, but it is a good choice.

Since the expansion coefficient of brass flange is much larger than that of stainless steel, it is suitable for welding after socketing, so that the flange will be tightly clamped on the pipe after cold shrinkage, so there is no need to worry about the weld cracking due to thermal stress.

It is worth noting that although stainless steel is subject to greater compressive stress, it may be reversed into tensile stress in certain parts and under certain conditions, so there is a possibility of "stress corrosion cracking". The possible influence of the structure of the medium and pipeline on this type of damage should be considered comprehensively.
