The use of stainless steel pipe raw materials

Steel wire that is resistant to weak corrosive media such as air, steam, and water and chemically corrosive media such as acid, alkali, salt, etc., is also called stainless acid-resistant steel wire. In practice, steel wires resistant to corrosion by weak corrosive media are often called stainless steel pipes, and steel resistant to chemical media corrosion is called acid-resistant steel wires. Because of the difference in chemical composition between the two, the former is not necessarily resistant to corrosion by chemical media, while the latter is generally non-corrosive. The corrosion resistance of stainless steel pipes depends on the alloying elements contained in the steel wire. Chromium is the fundamental element that makes stainless steel pipes corrosion resistant. When the chromium content in the steel reaches about 12%, the chromium and the oxygen in the corrosive medium form a very thin oxide film (self-passivation film) on the surface of the steel. ), which can prevent further corrosion of the steel wire matrix. In addition to chromium, commonly used alloying elements include nickel, molybdenum, titanium, niobium, copper, nitrogen, etc., to meet the requirements of different uses for the arrangement and function of stainless steel pipes.

Stainless steel pipes are usually divided into:

① Ferritic stainless steel pipe, containing 12%-30% chromium. Its corrosion resistance, toughness and weldability are added with the addition of chromium, and its resistance to chloride stress corrosion is better than other types of stainless steel pipes.

②Austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel tube. Combines the advantages of austenitic and ferritic stainless steel pipes, and has superplasticity.

③Austenitic stainless steel pipe, containing more than 18% chromium, also containing about 8% nickel and a small amount of molybdenum, titanium, nitrogen and other elements. Good summarization function, resistant to corrosion by various media.

④Martensitic stainless steel pipe. High strength, but poor plasticity and weldability.

Stainless steel wire is a building material and steel that can reach ±0.01mm. It can be used in the fields of chemical industry, petroleum, food, power, electric power, aerospace, environmental protection, boiler heat exchanger and so on.
